The GARAN label is the EU harmonised label for the commercial guarantee of durability. It shows that the producer guarantees the entire product for more than two years at no extra cost. It also reminds consumers that the legal guarantee of conformity applies.
It was introduced by Directive (EU) 2024/825 and designed by Regulation (EU) 2025/1960. The EU application date was 27 September 2026. Check the applicable national duty, scope and exceptions in the 27-country overview.

Within the applicable national rules, the label is required when the producer supplies a free guarantee covering the entire good for more than two years and informs the trader. See the five-condition checklist and 27-country overview. The separate notice applies to covered sales of goods even without a qualifying producer guarantee.
The label may not be used. Directive 2011/83/EU requires a duration of more than two years, so the shortest value the label can carry is 2,5 years. You can still offer a two-year commercial guarantee and describe it in the guarantee statement, just without the GARAN label.
No. The label expresses the duration in years only: whole numbers such as 3, 5 or 10, or half years with a decimal comma such as 2,5. The Commission's guidelines exclude other decimals such as 4,1. See how to enter the guarantee duration.
Entered brand, model and duration values and uploaded spreadsheet contents are processed locally, not sent to a server. Usage analytics transmit page views and feature events, including selected formats and row-count ranges, without these contents.
